I wanted to get the ball rolling on art work this summer - I've finally recovered from the last academic year, and I can focus again! I was digging through my art box and came across a brand new pack of Crayola crayons that I'd asked for for Christmas. I desperately wanted to use them for something and couldn't decide what, until I stumbled across a scenery post on Tumblr for Erebor. The colours of the edits seemed pretty perfect, so I couldn't help myself.

This also ties in nicely with my project for the summer - landscape, scenery and concept art! I'm going to work from various existing films for a while, developing skills and confidence, but with the aim of illustrating one of my favourite books in a couple of months or so.
